![]() ![]() This is a setup that I found to be much more engaging, but it did take a lot of getting used to after playing Diablo for so long. It also includes dodge rolls and the ability to move the camera with the character around the landscape versus a static view like Diablo. For possibly the first time in a top-down ARPG that I have played, Victor Vran allows jumping and wall jumping, which is really only used to find hidden areas. Unlike its competition, Victor Vran also adds some mobility that has been lacking. Combos and synergizing become gratifying, and finding new combinations that work together for your playstyle makes the whole game a joy to play. Having only a few attacks on cooldown but different weapon types that play extremely different allows great flexibility on how you play and how you choose to use your weapons together. You can also have two weapons equipped at one time and switch between them on the fly, and this is where Victor Vran shines. Each weapon has one standard attack and two more powerful attacks on cooldown. There are no real classes, and how you play is based on your weapons more so than class abilities or powers. One unique part of it is that you play solely as Victor Vran, who is a demon hunter. The combat in Victor Vran is solid and very well done. Although I was bored with the story and lore through the games campaign it didn’t seem to change how much fun I ended up having thanks to the action and combat. The story is nothing more than a way to give context to why you are hunting monsters. It doesn’t really have more than “go here, do this, and return to the hub.” Unfortunately nothing seems to really stick out and the plot is pretty run-of-the-mill, but thankfully the story does not effect the monster slaying. Its core gameplay is solid and it has a ton of content which will last a player days, but the biggest question is if it can compete with the big names in the genre. Victor Vran looks to cash in on this, while doing some unique things that make it stand on its own. The game sometimes is confusing as it has a lot of dungeons you don’t get a shortcut back to the base right away and you have to go all the way back to find the base gate.Action RPG’s are getting big again with the likes of Diablo 3, Grim Dawn, Path of Exile, and more. And, as you go above to higher levels and move to those dungeons the difficulty is great, if you don’t upgrade the weapons and other things, it gets more and more difficult to move ahead. This game is more of hack and slash killing all the monsters. On top of that, the voice overs are great especially the protagonist. The graphics are really interesting and enhanced for PS4 itself. A lot of times the skills are really interesting and explosive to take out whole gang of enemies. On top of that a player can get addition cards which can give passive skills or bonuses. And, players can equip different skills for those weapons. The player can equip two different weapons, which can be either, swords, knives, scythe, guns or shotguns. There are a lot of treasures and secret findings in each dungeon which is really fun. The character has different skills which he can use and can update his skills. We destroy the enemies on the way and try to find our friend. Most of the dungeons have sub-dungeons in themselves. ![]() The game has a base or we can say safe dungeon as a castle, and other dungeons to which we can go. He then meets the princess and figures out what actually is going on with the town itself. Then, Victor Vran has to fight through a few enemies and make his way through the castle, where he meets the townsfolks who are still living there. The character is actually in the town to save his hunter friend, where it is said that no one has returned once they came to Zagarovia. It is about a cursed town, which is fully swarming with different kinds of monsters everywhere. Victor Vran: Overkill Edition has a really interesting gameplay style with story. To be true, the game had me attracted as soon as I heard Doug Cockle, the Geralt of Rivia himself. I was wondering where did I heard the voice before, and at last it struck me the sound was of Geralt of Rivia from Witcher. I started playing this game, and the voice over of the protagonist was very familiar to me. There is something interesting about this hunter named Victor Vran. Victor Vran: Overkill Edition is created by Haemimont Games and published by Wired Productions. Well, we didn’t play X-Men but Victor Vran: Overkill Edition, a same gameplay style, as a hunter. Most of the players have played X-Men Legends, the top down X-Men game, where we run around killing the enemies using different heroes. ![]()
